Uses / Indications:

Carpela 2mg/0.035mg Tablet is used in the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). It is used to treat symptoms of PCOS such as excessive hair growth (hirsutism), acne and irregular menstrual cycle (periods).

Pregnancy interaction:

Carpela 2mg/0.035mg Tablet is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy.Human and animal studies have shown significant adverse effects on the foetus. Please consult your doctor.

How it works:

Carpela 2mg/0.035mg Tablet is a combination of two hormonal medicines: Cyproterone and Ethinyl Estradiol which treat PCOS symptoms such as acne, excessive hair growth (hirsutism) and irregular menstrual cycle (periods). Cyproterone works by blocking the overproduction of androgens (male hormones) in the ovaries thereby reducing unwanted hair growth and acne. Ethinyl Estradiol enhances the effect of Cyproterone by reducing the amount of androgens in the blood circulation. Together, they also regularize the menstrual cycle in PCOS.
