Information about Starlop 2mg Tablet

Uses / Indications:

Starlop 2mg Tablet is used in the treatment of diarrhoea. It should not be used in patients with dysentery (diarrhea with blood).

Pregnancy interaction:

Starlop 2mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Expert advice:

Consult your doctor if you have diarrhea lasting for more than 48 hours. Don't use if you have blood in your stool or it's dark or black in color. The drug can make you dizzy or drowzy. Avoid driving or operating any heavy machinery when taking this drug. Try to drink plenty of fluids. Having diarrhea can make you dehydrated. Do not take loperamide if you are allergic to it. Do not take this drug if you have blood in your stools or if your stools are dark or black in colour. Do not take this drug if you are severly constipated.

Nausea, Headache, Constipation, Flatulence.

How to use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Starlop 2mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Starlop 2mg Tablet is an anti-diarrhoeal medication. It works by decreasing contraction of the intestines which makes stools more solid and less frequent.

Please consult your doctor before taking the drug.|Can I take Starlop with cimetidine? : Cimetidine can decrease the metabolism of Starlop, increase its blood levels and hence, increase its effects and side effects. Your dose of Starlop may needs to be decreased. Consult your doctor prior to taking both the drugs together.
