Pregnancy Interaction
- Melbild is a topical drug, which means that only a tiny quantity gets into the body.
- But there isn't enough research on humans to know for sure that it's safe during pregnancy.
- Use only when absolutely necessary during pregnancy and only under the close watch of a dermatologist.
- During pregnancy, don't use it on big sections of skin, damaged skin, or irritated skin.
- If you are breastfeeding, don't put it on or near your breasts.
Faq For Medicine
Q1. What is the purpose of Melbild Solution?
People with vitiligo can use Melbild Solution to help color in white spots on their skin.
Q2. Is there steroids in Melbild?
No. It has Deca-Peptide, which is a peptide that helps with repigmentation, not a steroid.
Q3. How long will it take to see results?
Usually, it takes 8 to 12 weeks to see early signs of improvement, and full effects may take 3 to 6 months.
Q4. Is it okay to put Melbild on my face?
Yes, but only on spots of vitiligo and with the help of a doctor.
Q5. Can kids use Melbild?
Yes, but only if a dermatologist says so.
Q6. Can it be used with light therapy?
Yes. For greater outcomes, it is often used with NB-UVB phototherapy or modest sun exposure.
Expert Advice
- Put it only on white spots, not on normal skin.
- Before you put it on, clean the area and use a thin layer instead of a thick one.
- Many physicians say that exposing the treated region to gentle morning sunshine for 10 to 15 minutes will help with repigmentation.
- Always apply sunscreen on normal skin to keep it from getting darker next to vitiligo patches.
- You need to stick with your vitiligo treatment for a long time; don't stop suddenly.
- Don't touch your eyes, mouth, broken skin, or wounds.
- If the doctor says you can use combination therapy, you can use it with tacrolimus/pimecrolimus or steroids, but only if there is a 2–3 hour gap between doses.
Side Effects
- Side effects that happen a lot:
- A slight burning feeling
- Redness
- Itching
- Skin that is dry
- Irritation at the place of application
- Side effects that happen less often:
- Peeling skin
- More sensitive to sunlight
- Darkening of the skin around the vitiligo patch (if applied outside of it)
- Very serious (rare):
- Very red
- Swelling
- Blistering
- Reaction to an allergen
- If you get significant irritation, stop using it and talk to your doctor.
How It Works
- Melbild Solution has Deca-Peptide (Decapeptide) in it, which assists with repigmentation by:
- Encouraging melanocytes (pigment cells) to go into white spots
- Starting the growth of melanocytes
- Making more melanin
- Getting the skin color back to normal in vitiligo areas
- It works best when you use it regularly and occasionally with sunlight or phototherapy.
Medicine Interaction
- Drug interactions are not a big concern with Melbild because it is topical.
- But:
- Unless your doctor tells you to, don't use more than one medicinal cream (steroids, tacrolimus, pimecrolimus) at the same time.
- If you're utilizing more than one topical vitiligo treatment, wait 2 to 3 hours between doses.
- Don't use strong cosmetics, fragrances, or chemical peels on regions that have been treated.
- If you are using this with NB-UVB or PUVA phototherapy, be sure to follow your dermatologist's advice.
How to Use
- Wash the area that is affected with mild soap and dry it off.
- Apply a Thin Layer: Just put a little bit on the white regions of vitiligo.
- Don't rub too hard; just gently spread it out.
- How often: Usually once a day, often at night or as directed.
- Sunlight:
- If you were told to, let the treated region have 10 to 15 minutes of gentle morning sunlight the next day.
- Be careful:
- Only for use outside
- After applying, wash your hands.
- For 2 to 3 hours after applying, don't wash the area.
- Missed Dose: Apply when you remember; don't use more than you need.
