Uses / Indications:
Maclar Suspension is used in the treatment of bacterial infections. It is used in infections of tonsils, sinus, ear, nose, throat, skin and soft tissues, windpipe and lungs (pneumonia).

Pregnancy interaction:
Maclar Suspension may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Expert advice:
Maclar will cure your infection and improve symptoms. It may cause an upset stomach. If this happens to you, take it with food. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Diarrhea may occur as a side effect but should stop when your course is complete. Inform your doctor if it doesn't stop or if you find blood in your stools. Do not take antacids 2 hours before or after taking Maclar.

How to use:
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Maclar Suspension may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.Take it with food if you are experiencing stomach upset.Avoid Maclar Suspension with tyramine-rich food such as cheese, smoked fish, meats and some types of beer.

Maclar Suspension is a macrolide antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth by inhibiting synthesis of essential proteins, which are required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.
