Description:
Pregnancy interaction
- Not advised during pregnancy.
- Hydroquinone can be absorbed very well (up to 30–45%), hence pregnant women should stay away from it because there isn't enough safety data.
- Tretinoin (retinoid) is not safe to use during pregnancy since it could harm the fetus.
- Mometasone (a steroid) also needs to be taken with care, and if used too much, it could be absorbed into the body.
- If you want to get pregnant or are breastfeeding, you should not do this.
FAQs for Medicine?
Q1: Is it okay to use ENSHINER Cream every day?
Yes, but only once a day at night and only for as long as your doctor says you should.
Q2. Is it safe to apply on the whole face?
No, only use it on the damaged areas, not on your whole face.
Q3: When will I see results?
Most people get improvements in 2 to 4 weeks, while the best results are seen in 6 to 8 weeks.
Q4: Is it okay to use sunscreen with it?
Yes, it's required. Sun exposure makes pigmentation worse and makes negative effects worse.
Q5. Can it be used to make things fair?
No. Using it wrong can have long-lasting impacts.
Q6. If things go better, may I stop right away?
Stopping suddenly could induce rebound pigmentation. Always stick to the doctor's instructions for tapering.
Expert advice
- Only use at night; tretinoin breaks down in sunshine.
- Every day, put on broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 to 50.
- Don't put it on skin that is damaged, inflamed, or has eczema.
- While using this cream, don't get waxed, laser treatments, or scrubbing.
- Unless told to, don't use for more than 6–8 weeks.
- Make sure to test the patch before using it for the first time.
- Don't put it on or near your eyes, mouth, or skin folds.
- During therapy, stay away from harsh soaps, perfumes, or fairness creams.
Side effects
- A little burning
- Redness
- Lack of moisture
- Peeling or flaking
- Annoyance
- Moderate (because of steroids or retinoids):
- Eruptions that look like acne
- Thinning of the skin (atrophy)
- Stretch marks (long-term use)
- Patches of hypopigmentation
- Sensitivity to light
- Very serious:
- Rosacea caused by steroids
- Hyperpigmentation that comes back
- Dermatitis that causes irritation
- If you get a lot of irritation, stop using it and see a doctor.
How It Works
Hydroquinone:
- Stops the enzyme tyrosinase from making melanin, which makes dark spots less noticeable.
Tretinoin:
- Increases the speed at which cells turn over, gets rid of pigmented skin layers, and makes it easier for hydroquinone to be absorbed.
Mometasone:
- It helps with redness, swelling, and irritation caused by tretinoin and hydroquinone.
- Stops pigmentation that causes inflammation.
The Effect Together:
- Strong three-step treatment for melasma and persistent pigmentation.
Medicines interaction
- Don't use with other retinoids like adapalene, isotretinoin, or retinol.
- Stay away from benzoyl peroxide, AHA/BHA, or abrasive exfoliants because they might make your skin very irritated.
- Don't use more than one steroid cream on the same spot.
- Avoid using cosmetics or perfumes during therapy because they may make the discomfort worse.
How to Use
- Clean your face and then dry it off.
- Only put on a very thin layer on the pigmented parts.
- Once a day at bedtime.
- Put on sunscreen every morning without fail.
- Don't let the sun hit you while you're getting therapy.
- Keep going for 6 to 8 weeks or as directed.
- Don't use it for a long time; if you do, taper off slowly.
