Uses / Indications:

Tolkem 100mg Tablet is used for muscle relaxation. It is used to treat acute musculoskeletal pain.

Pregnancy interaction:

Tolkem 100mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Tolkem can increase the effects of other CNS depressants (alcohol, barbiturates) medicine. Avoid consuming alcohol when taking the Tolkem, as it may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness. Inform your doctor if you have ever been diagnosed with kidney or liver problems. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to conceive or breastfeeding.

How it works:

Tolkem 100mg Tablet is a muscle relaxant. It works on the centres in the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm without reduction in strength. This improves pain and movement of muscles.

Is Tolkem a steroid? : No. Tolkem is not a steroid. Tolkem is a muscle relaxant. It is used in low back pain and also used to treat spasticity associated with post-stroke patients.|Can I take Tolkem with paracetamol? : Yes. Tolkem can be taken with paracetamol. There is no known interaction between Tolkem and paracetamol.|Can I take Tolkem with diclofenac? : Yes. Tolkem can be taken with diclofenac to reduce pain and spasm associated with back pain and other conditions. There is no known interaction between Tolkem and paracetamol.|Are eperisone and Tolkem same? : No. Tolkem and eperisone are not same medicine but they are from the same class of drugs. They are centrally acting muscle relaxants. Both relax skeletal muscles but eperisone particularly also relaxes vascular smooth muscles leading to dilatation of blood vessels.|Can I take Tolkem for anxiety? : No. Tolkem is not a drug approved for anxiety. Tolkem is a centrally acting muscle relaxant.|Can Tolkem cause fall in blood pressure? : Yes. Tolkem can cause fall in blood pressure due to its action on the blood vessels. It relaxes the blood vessels leading to hypotension.|Can I take Tolkem in myasthenia gravis? : No. Tolkem is absolutely contraindicated in cases of myasthenia gravis which is a disease of muscle and nerve end plate leading to muscle weakness.
