Uses / Indications

• You can use this combo medication to:
• Treat excessive blood pressure (hypertension)
• Lower the chances of having a heart attack or stroke
• When one medicine isn't enough, control blood pressure.
• Avoid problems that come with having high blood pressure for a long time

 How It Works

• Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that stops things that make blood vessels tighten from working. This relaxes the blood vessels.
• Chlorthalidone is a type of thiazide diuretic that helps the body get rid of extra salt and water. They work together to lower blood pressure and put less stress on the heart.

 How to Use

• Take once a day, at the same time if possible.
• Can be taken with or without food.
• Take the tablet whole with water.
• Don't stop suddenly without talking to your doctor beforehand.

Side Effects

• Side effects that happen a lot:
• Feeling dizzy or light-headed
• Pain in the head
• More urination
• Tiredness
• Nausea
• Not as common but serious:
• Low blood pressure (hypotension)
• An imbalance of electrolytes (low potassium or sodium)
• Kidney function impairment
• Lack of water
• If your symptoms are severe or last a long time, see a doctor.

Pregnancy Interaction

• ⚠️ Not safe to use during pregnancy
• Telmisartan can hurt the fetus very badly.
• The 2nd and 3rd trimesters are the most dangerous times.
• Could cause kidney failure, problems with the skull, or death of the fetus
