Pregnancy Interaction
- Pregnancy:
- Be careful when using Satrogyl-O while pregnant.
- Ofloxacin (a fluoroquinolone) is not a good idea, especially in the first trimester, because it could hurt the joints and cartilage of the fetus.
- Only use if the doctor says to.
- Breastfeeding:
- Ofloxacin could go into breast milk and hurt the baby's joints.
- Do not breastfeed while you are getting therapy or for at least 24 hours following your last dosage.
- Satranidazole may also cause stomach problems in babies.

Used to treat giardiasis, trichomonas infection, amoebiasis, traveler's diarrhea, mixed bacterial-protozoal diarrhea, and other intestinal illnesses.
Q2. Is Satrogyl-O an antibiotic?
Yes. There are two parts to it: Ofloxacin is an antibacterial drug. Satranidazole is an antiprotozoal drug.

Expert Advice
- Don't drink alcohol while you're getting therapy or for 48 to 72 hours following your final dosage.
- Drink a lot of water to keep from being dehydrated from diarrhea.
- Stay out of the sun; Ofloxacin can make you sensitive to light.
- Finish the whole course, even if your symptoms become better.
- If you feel dizzy, don't drive or use machinery.
- If you have any of the following, let the doctor know:
- Problems with tendons
- Seizures or epilepsy
- Problems with the liver and kidneys
- Problems with the heart's rhythm (QT prolongation)

How It Works
- Satrogyl-O has:
- 1. Ofloxacin
- An antibiotic called fluoroquinolone.
- Stops bacteria from growing by blocking DNA gyrase and topoisomerase, two important enzymes that help bacteria copy their DNA.

Medicine Interaction
- Tell your doctor if you are taking:
- Anti-arrhythmics (risk of QT prolongation)
- Anti-seizure medications

- Antacids (lower the amount of Ofloxacin that the body absorbs; wait 2 hours)
- Diabetes medications (risk of glucose variation)
- Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
- Other antibiotics or medications that kill amoebas
- Don't drink alcohol at all.
How to Use
- After eating, take the tablet.
- Do not crumble or chew; just swallow whole with water.
- Take at regular intervals.
- Finish the whole course.
- If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. If you're close to your next dose, skip it.
- Stay away from alcohol and too much sun.
