Proace 5mg Capsule is used in the treatment of high blood pressure. It lowers the risk of heart attack and stroke.
Pregnancy interaction:
Proace 5mg Capsule is unsafe to use during pregnancy.There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
Expert advice:
You may get a dry cough while using Proace. Report to your doctor if there is a persistent cough. Proace may cause the level of potassium in blood to go up. Avoid taking potassium supplements and potassium-rich foods such as banana and broccoli. Inform your doctor immediately if you have rapid swelling of the lips, tongue, and throat that may affect breathing. Inform your doctor if you have ever been diagnosed with kidney or liver problems. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to conceive or breastfeeding. You shouldn’t take Proace if you’re pregnant or plan to become pregnant. Proace may cause birth defects or be fatal to your unborn baby.

How to use:
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Proace 5mg Capsule may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
How it works:
Proace 5mg Capsule is an angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. It works by reducing stress on the heart and relaxing blood vessel so that blood flows more smoothly and the heart can pump blood more efficiently.

However, It is not very commonly observed. |Does Proace cause an increase in potassium levels in the blood? : Yes, increased potassium levels in the blood (hyperkalemia) is one the common side effects of Proace. |Does Proace cause depression? : Yes, Proace may cause depression; however, it is not very commonly observed. |Does Proace known to cause thinning of the blood? : No. Proace has no known effect on blood thinning. |Can I take Proace with sildenafil? : Yes, Proace can be taken with Sildenafil. However, there could be an excessive fall in blood pressure when taken together and you can experience symptoms like dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, flushing, headache, or an increased heart rate. So, special caution must be taken when taking both the drugs together and inform your doctor if you experience any of these symptoms.
