Uses / Indications
- Hypertension (high blood pressure) helps keep blood pressure in check.
- Hyperlipidemia and dyslipidemia reduce cholesterol and triglycerides.
- Preventing coronary artery disease (CAD) lowers the risk of heart attack or angina.
- Preventing strokes in people who are at high risk
- Secondary prevention of cardiovascular events following a myocardial infarction.
- Managing atherosclerosis slows down the process of plaque development.
- Patients with a high risk of heart disease—combination therapy lowers many risk factors.
How It Works
- Polycap is made up of five agents that work together in different ways:
- Atenolol decreases blood pressure and heart rate, which makes the heart work less hard.
- Aspirin stops platelets from sticking together, which lowers the chance of clotting.
- Atorvastatin lowers LDL cholesterol and delays the buildup of plaque in arteries.
- Ramipril lowers blood pressure by blocking ACE, which relaxes blood vessels.
- Hydrochlorothiazide lowers blood pressure by getting rid of extra salt and water through the kidneys.
- In high-risk people, these two things lower the chance of having a heart attack, stroke, or other cardiac problems.
How to Use
- Follow your doctor's instructions exactly.
- Usually taken once a day, at the same time each day if possible
