How it works
- 2.25 gram of Pipzo The injection has:
- Piperacillin
- An antibiotic of the penicillin class that kills bacteria by breaking down their cell walls.
- Tazobactam
- A beta-lactamase inhibitor that stops bacteria from breaking down Piperacillin.
- Makes the antibiotic work better against bacteria that are resistant to it.
- They work together to protect against a wide range of bacteria, including Gram-positive, Gram-negative, and anaerobic bacteria.
Medicine Interaction
- Be careful when using with:
- Medicines that are bad for the kidneys
- Amikacin and Gentamicin are aminoglycosides.
- Vancomycin
- Diuretics (Furosemide)
- Medicines that thin the blood
- Warfarin (makes bleeding more likely)
- Methotrexate
- Risk of toxicity rises
- Probenecid
- Raises the amount of Piperacillin in the blood
- Relaxants for muscles
- Could make neuromuscular blockade stronger
