It is used to help hair grow back in people with androgenetic alopecia (male or female pattern hair loss).
Q2. Is Minokem 2% or 5% better?
5% is stronger and works better, especially for guys.
If a dermatologist tells them to, women can use it.

You should start to see improvements in 8 to 12 weeks, and you should see full results after 4 to 6 months of regular use.
Q4. Will there be more hair loss at first?
Yes, it's typical to lose hair for the first 2–4 weeks. This means that new hair is starting to develop.

No. Once therapy finishes, hair loss will slowly come back.
Expert Advice
- Only use on a dry scalp.
- Don't take more than the prescribed amount; taking more won't make your hair grow faster.
- Don't use it on a scalp that is inflamed, diseased, sunburned, or hurt.
- Don't let it touch your eyes, nose, or mouth. If it does, rinse it off right away.
- After using, wash your hands.
- Don't use a hair dryer right after applying.
- Stay consistent; skipping doses changes the results.
- If you have heart disease or low blood pressure, be careful when using this.
Side Effects
- A lot:
- Irritation of the scalp
- Redness
- Flaking or dryness
- Itching
- A slight burning feeling
- Not as common:
- Too much hair on the face
- Feeling dizzy
- Swelling of hands and feet (rare)
- Fast heartbeat (not common)
- Chest discomfort (extremely rare)
- If you have serious symptoms, stop using and visit a doctor.
How It Works
- Minokem 5% Spray has Minoxidil in it, which is a topical vasodilator.
- How it works:
- Getting more blood to the hair follicles
- Lengthening the anagen phase of hair development
- Encouraging small (weak) follicles to grow
- Increasing the thickness, density, and regeneration of hair
- This slows down hair loss and helps new hair grow.
Medicine Interaction
- Topical Minoxidil has little effect on the whole body, but:
- Don't use with:
- Corticosteroids for the skin
- Tretinoin and other retinoids
- Ointments made from petroleum
- These make absorption easier and raise the danger of negative effects.
- Be careful if you are taking:
- Drugs that reduce blood pressure
- Diuretics
- No notable interactions with other drugs that are taken by mouth.
How to Use
- Twice a day (or as directed), put 1 ml (7–8 sprays) on the parts of your scalp that are afflicted.
- For targeted application, keep the spray nozzle close to the scalp.
- Use your fingers to gently massage.
- Do not wash it off for at least four hours; let it dry on its own.
- Don't put it on wet hair or right after a shower.
- Use it every day; missing doses makes it less effective.

- Men and women losing hair
