Medicine Interaction
- Use with care with:
- Aluminum and magnesium antacids lower the amount of doxycycline that the body can take in.
- Supplements of iron, calcium, and zinc make them less effective.
- Blood thinners (Warfarin) → higher chance of bleeding
- Oral contraceptives → less effective
- Phenytoin and carbamazepine are anti-seizure medicines that lower the amount of doxycycline.
- Probenecid raises the levels of cefpodoxime.
- Retinoids (isotretinoin) raise the risk of high intracranial pressure.
- Always tell your doctor about any other medicines or supplements you are taking.
How to use
- After eating, take one capsule (as directed).
- Take it all in with a full glass of water.
- Wait at least 30 minutes before lying down after taking the drug.
- Do not take dairy products, antacids, or mineral supplements within two hours after taking your dose.
- Finish the whole course.
- If you skip a dose:
- Don't take it twice if you recall to do so; only take it when you remember.
