Description:
Uses / Indications
- KETOSCORE 6 Cream is a topical antifungal medication that can help with skin fungal diseases like:
- Tinea corporis, or ringworm
- Tinea pedis, or athlete's foot
- Tinea cruris, or jock itch
- Infections of the skin by candida
- Seborrheic dermatitis (skin involvement associated to fungal dandruff)
- Other superficial fungal infections that cause itching, redness, and scaling
How It Works
- KETOSCORE Cream has ketoconazole in it, which is an antifungal drug that
- Stops the formation of ergosterol, which is an important part of the fungal cell membrane
- Weakens and harms the cell wall of the fungus
- Stops the growth of fungi and gets rid of the infection.
- This helps with itching, redness, scaling, and swelling.
How to Use
- Before you use it, clean and dry the region that is affected.
- As directed, put a thin layer of cream on the affected skin once or twice a day.
- Gently rub in until it is gone.
- Wash your hands after using (unless you're treating your hands).
- Don't let it touch your eyes, mouth, or mucous membranes.
- Even if your symptoms get better quickly, you should keep taking the medicine for the full amount of time that was advised.
Side Effects
- Most adverse effects are minimal and only affect one area:
- Feeling like you're burning or stinging
- Itchy or red skin at the point of application
- Skin that is dry or irritated
- Not very common:
- Rash, swelling, or acute itching are all signs of an allergic reaction.
- If you have a bad response, stop using it and see a doctor.
Pregnancy Interaction
- Topical ketoconazole is thought to be pretty safe when used on the skin, but there isn't much information about how it affects pregnant women.
- Only use during pregnancy if your doctor says you need to.
- Don't use it too much or for too long while pregnant.
- Breastfeeding:
- Generally safe to use on the outside of the body; don't put it on the breast area before feeding.
Medicine Interaction
- Drug interactions are rare because KETOSCORE Cream is applied to the skin and doesn't get absorbed into the body very much.
- Don't use more than one antifungal or steroid cream on the same location unless your doctor tells you to.
Expert Advice
- Only for outside use.
- Don't use on skin that is badly wounded or has open wounds.
- Clean and dry the area that is affected.
- Do not use occlusive dressings until told to.
- If you don't feel better in 2–3 weeks, see a doctor.
- Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from kids in a cool, dry location.
