Medicine interaction
Q1. What is KETOFORD Cream for?
It is used to treat skin illnesses caused by fungi, like ringworm, dermatitis caused by dandruff, and pityriasis versicolor.
Q2: Is it okay to use on my face?
Only use on the face if a doctor tells you to; don't get it in your eyes or mouth.
Q3. How long will it take to work?
Most people start to feel better within 3 to 5 days, but it may take 2 to 4 weeks for the infection to get better completely, depending on how bad it is.
Q4. Is it safe for pregnant women?
Only use if your doctor says so.
Q5: Can I stop using it when the itching goes down?
No. Finish the whole course to avoid going back to drugs.

Yes, the itching gets better as the fungal infection gets better.
Expert advice
- Before applying, make sure the area is clean and dry.
- Only use a thin layer; too much won't help you heal faster.
- Even if your symptoms get better quickly, you should keep taking the medicine for the full amount of time that was advised.
- To cut down on friction and sweat, wear clothes that aren't too tight.
- Don't share towels, clothes, or personal belongings to keep infections from spreading.
- Unless your doctor tells you to, don't use steroid creams on the same region (steroids make fungal infections worse).
- See a doctor if the burning or discomfort doesn't go away.
Side effects

- Dry skin
- Itching
- Peeling or itching
- Not often, but serious:

How it works
- Ketoconazole is an imidazole antifungal that operates by:
- Blocking the production of ergosterol, which is an important part of fungal cell membranes.
- Making the cell membrane of the fungus weak and easy to get through.
- Stopping the growth of fungi and eventually killing the cells.
- It works against a wide range of fungi, including dermatophytes, yeasts, and certain molds.
Medicine interaction
- Topical ketoconazole doesn't go into the bloodstream very much, therefore interactions are unlikely.
But:
- Unless your doctor tells you to, don't use other antifungal or steroid creams at the same time.
- Don't use harsh exfoliants, alcohol-based treatments, or things that irritate the skin on the same area.
- Tell your doctor about any other topical medicines you are taking.
How to use
- Wash and dry the region that is hurting.
- Use a small layer of cream once or twice a day, as instructed.
