Uses / Indications:

Forteo 600mcg Injection is used in the treatment of osteoporosis. It treats osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and men at high risk of fractures.

Pregnancy interaction:

Forteo 600mcg Injection may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Your doctor has prescribed Forteo to make your bones stronger, and lower the risk of fractures. Inject it every day under the skin (subcutaneous injection) of the thigh or abdomen. Do not take it for more than 8 to 24 months. You may have low blood pressure and dizziness during the initial few days. If you feel dizzy (light-headed) after injection, sit or lie down until you feel better. Tell your doctor immediately if you experience nausea, vomiting, constipation, low energy, or muscle weakness. These may be signs of high calcium levels in your blood. Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding, pregnant or plan to become pregnant.
