Description:
Uses / Indications
- Treatment of hormone receptor-positive (ER-positive) breast cancer in women who have gone through menopause.
- Used for advanced or metastatic breast cancer.
- When cancer has gotten worse following prior anti-estrogen treatments, it is time for this.
- Used by itself or with other cancer-fighting drugs as directed by an oncologist.
How It Works

- It works by inhibiting and breaking down estrogen receptors, which stops estrogen from making hormone-dependent breast cancer cells proliferate.
Pregnancy Interaction

- It can hurt the unborn infant very badly.
- Women who can get pregnant must use effective birth control while they are getting therapy and for a certain amount of time after they finish taking the medicine.
- If you get pregnant while on therapy, tell your doctor right away.
How to Use
- A healthcare expert gives Faslodex as an injection into a muscle.
- Slowly put into the gluteal muscle of the buttock.
- Usually given as two shots per dose.
- The oncologist decides when to give the doses.
- Don't give yourself this shot.

- Anticoagulants (blood thinners) - higher chance of bleeding
