Uses / Indications:

Ertacrit 1gm Injection is used in serious bacterial infections and prevention of infection after surgery of the colon or rectum. It is used in infections of various body parts like skin and soft tissues, urinary tract, blood, brain and lungs (pneumonia).

Pregnancy interaction:

Ertacrit 1gm Injection is probably safe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.

Expert advice:

Do not start ertapenem, if you are allergic to ertapenem, or to any of the other ingredients in ertapenem tablets, or other antibiotics such as penicillins, cephalosporins or carbapenems. Do not take ertapenem, if you have developed diarrhea just before or after taking ertapenem. Doctorâ€™s advice should be considered in case of patients with following history of disease conditions: kidney disease (especially if you are receiving dialysis treatments), localized tremors, or fits; high blood pressure or other diseases. Avoid using ertapenem, if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breast-feeding.

Ertacrit 1gm Injection is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by preventing them from forming their own protective covering which is required for their survival in the human body.

However, they are used for the treatment of different infections. Ertapenem is not a sulfa drug|what is Ertacrit used for? : Ertacrit is used to treat infections in various parts of the body caused by bacteria that are susceptible it. These include gynecologic and abdominal infections, pneumonia, skin and underlying tissue infections due to diabetes (e.g. diabetic foot).
