Duabit 60mg Capsule is used in the treatment of acidity, heartburn and stomach ulcers.
Pregnancy interaction:
Duabit 60mg Capsule is probably safe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.

Inform your doctor if you do not feel better after taking it for 14 days as you may be suffering from some other problem that needs attention. Duabit can decrease magnesium levels in blood. Get your magnesium levels checked regularly. You may need a magnesium supplement or need to discontinue your medicine. Inform your doctor if you are suffering from osteoporosis as Duabit can weaken your bones by decreasing calcium levels in blood. You may need a calcium supplement, preferably calcium citrate. Duabit is a well-tolerated medicine and provides relief for a long time. It may take a few days to show its effect. You can take an antacid for a quick relief during this time unless your doctor has asked you not to use them. Once you start feeling better, do not stop taking your medicine. Take it for the duration as advised by your doctor

How to use:
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Duabit 60mg Capsule may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
How it works:
Duabit 60mg Capsule is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which helps in relief of acid-related indigestion and heartburn.

For how long should I take Duabit? : Duabit can be used for different durations depending on the condition. It is used in adults for 4 weeks to treat heartburn related to gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in which acid from stomach enters food pipe (esophagus). It is used for 8 weeks to heal acid-related damage to the food pipe (called reflux esophagitis or RE) and for up to 6 months to continue healing of erosive esophagitis.|How does Duabit work for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease? : Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) happens when high acid secretion in your stomach enters your food pipe (esophagus) and causes a burning feeling in chest (heartburn) or throat, sour taste or burping. Duabit acts by decreasing the acid produced in the stomach and relieves the symptoms of GERD.|Are there any withdrawal symptoms associated with the use of Duabit? : There are no withdrawal symptoms seen when you stop using Duabit as it has no addiction potential.|Is Duabit available over the counter? : No, Duabit is not an over-the-counter product. It is a prescription medicine and is available only when prescribed by a physician.|Does long term use of Duabit can increase the risk of osteoporosis and bone fractures? : Duabit can cause calcium deficiency and hence an increased risk of bone fractures on long term use. Normally the acid in the stomach helps in the release of ionized calcium which is important for calcium absorption. As Dexlansoprazole decreases the stomach acid, it also decreases calcium absorption and an increases the risk of bone fractures.|Can Duabit cause diarrhea? : Use of Duabit may increase your risk of getting severe diarrhea. This diarrhea may be caused by an infection (Clostridium difficile) in your intestines. Consult your doctor if you have watery stool, stomach pain, and fever that does not go away while you are taking this medicine.|Can long term use of Duabit cause magnesium deficiency? : Long-term use of Duabit can lower your magnesium levels in patients taking multiple daily doses for a year or longer (at least 3 months). Get your magnesium levels checked at regular intervals.Tell your doctor if you experience seizures, dizziness, abnormal or fast heartbeat, jitteriness, jerking movements or shaking (tremors), muscle weakness, spasms of the hands and feet, cramps, muscle aches or spasm of the voice box.|Can I take Duabit with clopidogrel? : Duabit can be safely taken with clopidogrel. No clinically important changes in the action of clopidogrel have been seen when Duabit and clopidogrel are used together.|Is Duabit a narcotic? : Duabit is not a narcotic. It is a proton pump inhibitor used for the treatment of acidity, heartburn, intestinal ulcers and stomach ulcers.|Is Duabit a controlled substance? : Duabit is not a controlled substance. It is available when prescribed by a doctor.|Does Duabit has an expiry date? : Yes, Duabit does expire. Please check the expiry date written on the pack and it refers to the last day of that month.
