Pregnancy interaction:
Risk Level: Moderate (only use it if absolutely necessary).
More information:
When used on healthy skin and in small places, topical hydrocortisone and crotamiton don't go into the body very much.
Long-term or excessive use, especially over large regions or beneath tight dressings, might produce systemic absorption, which can slow down fetal growth or lower adrenal function.
There is not much data on people; therefore, only utilize it when the benefits are greater than the hazards.
Advice:
Only use it on areas that are afflicted, and don't use it for a long time when pregnant.
Don't put it on broken skin or near your breasts in the last few weeks of pregnancy.
Breastfeeding
If you only put it on small regions of skin, it is thought to be safe to use topically.
Don't put it on or around the nipple area before nursing.
After using, wash your hands well.
Expert advice:
Only use on the outside. Stay away from the mouth, eyes, and mucous membranes.
Put a tiny coating on the area that hurts and gently rub it in until it is gone.
Unless you're treating your hands, wash them after applying.
Unless your doctor tells you to, don't use tight or occlusive dressings.
Long-term or continuous use may cause skin thinning or other negative effects associated with steroids, so don't do it.
To keep scabies from coming back, wash your clothes, towels, and blankets in hot water.
If your skin irritation gets worse or doesn't go away after a week, see your doctor.
Side Effects:
Normal:
A mild sting, redness, or irritation at the site of application
Itching or dryness
Not as common:
Skin thinning (if used for a long time)
Striae, or stretch marks
Folliculitis (inflammation of hair follicles)
Pimples that look like acne
Changes in the color of the skin
Not common, but serious:
Reactions to allergies (rash, edema)
Effects of systemic corticosteroids (if taken too much or on vast areas), such as
Suppression of the adrenal glands
Wound healing that takes longer
Infections that come after
How to use:
Before applying, make sure the skin region is clean and dry.
Put a thin layer of Crotorax HC Cream on the area that hurts.
Gently rub it in until it is all gone.
Use once or twice a day as your doctor tells you to.
To treat scabies:
Apply the product all over the body, except for the face and scalp, unless instructed otherwise.
Leave it on for 8 to 12 hours (typically overnight), then wash it off with soap and water.
If necessary, do it again after 7 days.
To avoid getting sick again, wash all of your clothes and bedding following therapy.
How it works:
Crotamiton:
It functions as a scabicide, effectively eliminating the mite responsible for scabies, Sarcoptes scabiei.
It also possesses qualities that stop itching and calm inflammation.
Hydrocortisone:
is a moderate corticosteroid that helps with allergic or irritating reactions by lowering redness, swelling, itching, and inflammation.
➡️ Together, they do two things: kill the mites that cause scabies and ease the itching and discomfort that comes with it.
Faq for medicine:
1. What does Crotorax HC Cream do?
It can be used to treat scabies, itching, skin irritation, and skin allergies such as eczema and dermatitis.
2. Is it okay to use on my face?
Only use on the face if your doctor tells you to, because long-term use of hydrocortisone can make the skin on your face thinner.
3. Is it safe to use for bacterial or fungal infections?
No. It doesn't work against illnesses caused by bacteria or fungi. If you don't use it right, these infections could get worse.
4. How long do I need to use Crotorax HC Cream?
Itching usually lasts 3 to 5 days, although scabies can last up to a week, depending on what your doctor says. Don't use it for a long time unless your doctor tells you to.
5. Is it safe for kids?
Corticosteroids should only be used in youngsters under strong medical supervision since their skin absorbs them more easily.
Medicine interaction:
Topical Crotorax HC doesn't have many interactions with other drugs in the body, but you should be careful with:
Other corticosteroid creams may cause further steroid side effects.
Immunosuppressive drugs: They may make it easier for infections to spread.
Use topical antifungal or antibacterial medications separately unless a doctor tells you to use them together.
Using harsh or cosmetic products on your skin at the same time may create irritation.
