It is used to treat uncomplicated acute malaria, especially infections with Plasmodium falciparum.
Q2. Can I use this syrup to treat a fever or a viral infection?
No. It is ONLY for malaria, not for the flu, cold, or fever.
Q 3. When will the symptoms get better?
After commencing medication, the fever normally starts to go down within 24 to 48 hours.
Q4. Is the syrup safe for adults?
No. It was made for kids. Adults take tablets.
Q5. Should you feed the syrup on an empty stomach?
No. It must be taken with food, especially milk or fatty foods, so that it is absorbed well.
Q6. What if the kid throws up after swallowing the dose?
If you throw up within an hour, take the dose again.

- Always take Lumefantrine with milk or fatty food to help it work better.

Medicine Interaction
- Stay away from or use with care:
- Interactions between drugs
- Macrolide antibiotics (azithromycin) → may cause problems with cardiac rhythm
- Antiarrhythmics (amiodarone, quinidine) → QT prolongation
- Antidepressants (fluoxetine, amitriptyline)
- Antifungals (like ketoconazole and itraconazole)
- Rifampicin → makes drugs less effective
- Carbamazepine / Phenytoin → lowers medication levels
- HIV drugs → potential interaction
- Food Interaction
- For the body to absorb it well, it must be taken with fatty meals or milk.
- Do not administer on an empty stomach.
How to Use
- After putting it back together, shake it well.
- Give with meals that have milk or fat in them.
- Follow the prescription for the usual dose schedule:
- 0 hours → 8 hours → 24 hours → 36 hours → 48 hours → 60 hours
- Finish the whole three-day treatment.
- If you throw up within an hour, take the dose again.
- Stay well-hydrated.
- Follow the instructions for how to store the syrup and use it within the time frame given after mixing.
