Description:
Pregnancy Interaction
- This combination has Nebivolol, which is a beta-blocker, and Cilnidipine, which is a calcium channel blocker.
- Only use while pregnant if absolutely required, as
- Beta-blockers can make the fetal heart rate low, the fetal growth slow, and the birth weight low.
- There isn't a lot of information about how safe cilnidipine is during pregnancy, so it's not the best choice in the first trimester.
- Should only be taken with close medical supervision.
- If you notice less movement in the fetus, dizziness, a big drop in blood pressure, or a slow heartbeat, call right away.
Faq For Medicine
Q1. What do people use CILNIKEM BETA 5MG/10MG TABLET for?
It is used to lower blood pressure (hypertension), especially in people who need to manage their heart rate and lower their blood pressure at the same time.
Q2. Does it make your heart rate go down?
Yes. At the 5 mg dose, nebivolol lowers the heart rate by a lot.
Q3. Why would you want to take both of these medicines?
Nebivolol lowers heart rate and workload, and Cilnidipine opens up blood arteries without triggering reflex tachycardia.
Together, they give you strong dual BP control.
Q4. Is it okay to take it at night?
Yes. You can do it in the morning or at night, but the time should be the same every day.
Q5. Is it safe for those with diabetes?
Yes, however beta-blockers can hide the signs of low blood sugar, so you need to keep an eye on your sugar levels.
Q6. Can it be stopped all of a sudden?
No. Stopping suddenly can cause rebound hypertension or heart problems.
Q7. When will I see results?
In one to two hours, with the full effect of decreasing blood pressure after two to three days.
Expert Advice
- Check your heart rate and blood pressure at home on a regular basis.
- Stay away from alcohol because it makes you feel more dizzy and lowers your blood pressure even more.
- Get up carefully from lying down or sitting down to minimize dizziness as you stand up.
- Be careful when used with asthma or COPD; beta-blockers might make it hard to breathe.
- Don't do a lot of strenuous exercise at first until you know how the medicine affects your heart rate.
- If your doctor doesn't tell you to, don't take this medicine with other HR-reducing medicines.
- Follow the changes to your lifestyle and eat a low-salt diet.

How It Works
- Nebivolol (5 mg):
- A very selective β1-blocker
- Reduces heart rate and workload on the heart
- Stimulates the release of nitric oxide (NO), which opens blood vessels.
- Helps lower blood pressure and protect the heart
- Cilnidipine, 10 mg:
- Stops calcium channels of type L and type N
- L-type: relaxes blood arteries, which decreases blood pressure
- N-type: lessens sympathetic activity, which stops reflex tachycardia
- Effect when combined:
- Strong, smooth, and steady blood pressure regulation that protects the heart.
Medicine Interaction
- Be careful when using with:
- Other blood pressure medications can cause blood pressure to drop too low.
- Other beta-blockers can cause very slow heart rate.
- Calcium channel blockers (Verapamil, Diltiazem) → increased chance of slow heart rate
- Drugs that stop arrhythmias
- NSAIDs → may lessen the effect of decreasing blood pressure
- Diabetes medications ← beta-blockers may hide low blood sugar
- Alcohol → makes you feel more dizzy
- CYP3A4 inhibitors and inducers change how cilnidipine is broken down.
- Tell your doctor about all of your prescription and over-the-counter medicines and supplements.
How to Use
- Take one pill per day, or as instructed.
- Can be taken with or without food.
- Don't crumble or chew; just swallow whole.
- Keep the same time every day.
- If a dose is missed:
- Take when you recall
- If you're near to your next dose, skip it.
