How It Works
- Cefredrox-200 DT has 200 mg of Cefpodoxime Proxetil, which is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic.
- It stops the formation of bacterial cell walls by attaching to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs).
- This makes the bacterial cell wall weaker, which makes it break and kills the bacteria.
- It works against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
How To Use
- "DT" stands for "Dispersible Tablet." Before swallowing it, make sure to dissolve it thoroughly in a glass of water.
- Take it after a meal to help it be absorbed better and lessen tummy upset.
- Take it every day at the same time as your doctor says to.
- You should not skip doses or stop taking them early, even if you feel better.
- If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you recall. If it's close to the following dose, skip it (don't double).
Pregnancy interaction
- Be careful when using it while pregnant.
- There isn't much research on humans, but animal studies don't demonstrate any danger.
- Only take it when you really need it and your doctor tells you to.
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
Medicine interaction
- Aluminum and magnesium hydroxide antacids lower the absorption of antibiotics.
- Probenecid raises the levels of cefpodoxime and may make side effects worse.
- Warfarin and other anticoagulants can change how blood clots.
- Other nephrotoxic drugs, including aminoglycosides, can put further stress on the kidneys.
- Live bacterial vaccines may not work as well if you take antibiotics.
- Make sure to tell your doctor about all the vitamins, herbs, and drugs you take.
