Medicine interaction
Q1. What is the purpose of CAVMOX-CV DUOS?
It is used to treat bacterial infections such as pneumonia, sinusitis, ear infections, throat infections, urinary tract infections, and skin/soft-tissue infections.
Q2. Is it an antibiotic?
Yes. It has amoxicillin (an antibiotic) and clavulanic acid (a resistance buster).
Q3: Is it safe for me to consume it if I'm allergic to penicillin?
No. If you know you are allergic to penicillin, amoxicillin, or cephalosporins, do not use this medicine.
Q4: Is it okay to drink alcohol while taking this medicine?
Moderate drinking doesn't directly interfere with medications, but it could make side effects like stomach trouble worse.
Q5. What happens if I forget a dose?
Take it as soon as you remember. If it's almost time for the next dose, don't take the one you missed. Don't take twice as much.
Q6. Will this medicine make you have loose stools?
Yes, diarrhea is a common side effect of gut flora imbalance.
Q7. Is it safe for women who are nursing to take it?
Small quantities go into breast milk, which is normally safe but might cause diarrhea or thrush in babies.

How it works
- Amoxicillin stops bacteria from making cell walls, which kills them.
- Clavulanic acid stops beta-lactamases, which are bacterial enzymes, from breaking down amoxicillin.
- Together, they cover more types of bacteria and work well against bacteria that are resistant to other treatments.
