Scabies is an infestation of mites that causes itching and a rash.
Pediculosis is an infestation of head lice, body lice, and pubic lice.
Relief from the itching and irritation of the skin produced by these infestations
Pregnancy interaction:
There aren't many studies on people.
Not safe for most pregnant women, especially in the first trimester, unless absolutely essential.
During pregnancy, it may be better to use safer treatments instead.
Expert advice:
Before putting it all over your body, always test a tiny area to see whether you are sensitive to it.
Don't let it touch your eyes, mouth, or mucous membranes.
Don't put it on open wounds, broken skin, or skin that is red and swollen.
A doctor may tell you to dilute it with water if you are a kid, an older person, or have sensitive skin.
If you keep itching after treatment, it doesn't always mean you got reinfested. It could be that you're allergic to mite detritus. Before putting it back on, talk to your doctor.
To stop the spread, wash all of your clothes, linens, and personal stuff.
Side Effects:
Side effects that happen a lot:
A mild burning or stinging feeling
Skin that is dry or red
Itching (may last for a short time after therapy because of dead mites)
Side effects that are rare yet serious:
Severe skin irritation or blisters
An allergic reaction can cause a rash, swelling, and trouble breathing.
If you mistakenly put it on your eyes, it could irritate them.
How to use:
Only for use outside.
Before using, shake the bottle well.
Put the emulsion all over your body, from your neck down (don't put it on your face, eyes, or mucous membranes).
After 12 to 24 hours, wash it off with soap and water.
For head lice, put it on the scalp and hair, let it sit for the appropriate time, and then rinse.
If your doctor says to, apply again as needed.
To keep bugs from coming back, wash your sheets, clothes, and towels in hot water.
How it works:
Benzyl benzoate gets into the skin and kills mites, lice, and their eggs.
Works by being a neurotoxic to parasites and killing them when they touch it.
Gets rid of the cause of itching (mites or lice) to stop it.
Faq for medicine:
Q1: Is it safe to give Ascabiol to kids?
A1: Yes, however it should be diluted and only used under the care of a doctor because kids' skin is more sensitive.
Q2: Is it safe to use Ascabiol when I'm pregnant?
A2: It is usually avoided unless there is no safer option. Always talk to your doctor first.
Q3: How many applications are necessary for scabies?
A3: Most of the time, one thorough treatment works. However, if the problem doesn't go away after 7 days, a second application may be needed.
Q4: Is it okay to apply Ascabiol on the face?
A4: No, don't put it on your face or mucous membranes. Talk to your doctor about safer options for facial scabies.
Q5: Why does the itching not stop after using Ascabiol?
A5: Itching may last for 1 to 2 weeks since you are allergic to dead mites. It doesn't always mean that the treatment didn't work.
Medicine interaction:
Because Ascabiol is a topical treatment, it doesn't often interact with other medicines in the body.
Don't use it with other irritating skin products, including powerful soaps, lotions with alcohol in them, or corticosteroid creams, because they could make your skin worse.
Tell your doctor if you are using any other topical medicine on the same spot.
